CHRONICLES RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF THE NEW, RENEWABLE ENERGY DEPARTMENT

Under the order of the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture dated 05.10.2002, the "Renewable Energy" educational degree program was developed and the first 25 students were recruited and trained in the 2002/2003 academic year by order of the Ministry of Energy, and the professor team of "Renewable Energy and Industrial Ecology" was expanded. The head of the first professor's team was Dr. Prof. Kh. Enkhjargal, and the head of the renewable energy professor's team was Dr. Deputy Prof. D. Khishigsaikhan.

  • Since September 1, 2014, the team of professors of "Renewable energy and industrial ecology" has been working on the Renewable Energy Program in the "THERMAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT" under the structural organization of MUST.
  • In 2016, the first enrollment was started in the Renewable Energy 2+2 joint program with North China University of Electric Power, China.
  • To date, 361 bachelor's degrees in "Renewable energy", 25 in the “2+2 Renewable energy” program, and 30 in the master's degree have been successfully completed and working in energy and other sectors of government and non-government organizations, industrial companies, universities, academic institutions, and the private sector.
  • On March 12, 2015, the "Renewable Energy and Industrial Ecology Training-Research Polygon" was established in the Tsenkhermandal sum area of Khentii province.
  • For students studying in the Renewable Energy Program, the Solar, Wind, and Hydroelectric Power Plant Operational Laboratory was opened on November 6, 2020, and is being used by students in the Solar Power Plant, Wind Power Plant, and Hydroelectric Power Plant course labs.
  • According to the guidance and recommendations of the state organization responsible for education and directors of MUST, the curriculum was updated 4 times in 2008, 2014, 2016, and 2023. We are working successfully within the current resources and opportunities to improve the program policy, planning, materials and environmental conditions of learning, and develop teachers.
  • On August 29, 2022, EDF Director A. By order /55, a working group for the establishment of the Renewable Energy Sector was appointed.
  • On February 6, 2023, the Department of New and Renewable Energy was established on May 22, 2023 with the 100 percent vote of the Sub-Council of Education and Student Development under the Academic Council of MUST.
  • Starting from the 2023-2024 school year, new programs and new policies are being implemented and activities are being conducted with new colleagues.
