Message from director
In the period of higher education renovations, a main goal of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology is to educate and produce national technological experts through continuous bachelor, master and doctoral degree training with international level character. As Mongolia is marching into the twenty first century the Power Engineering School of MUST is dedicated to prepare highly qualified engineers who can manage and operate the technological process of power generation and power supply for domestic needs. In 1960 year the division of energy was established at Engineering faculty of Mongolian State University and the first enrollment of students on thermal and electrical engineering. As the energy supply is non-stop joint operation with the accurate technology, these activities should be well calculated, planned and coordinated as same as during all this time, these engineers and technicians were required to start the renovation effectively in the energy sector, to own the full capacity, to increase the technical and economical income, to make the automate information inspection, and to organize the technical advancements or management to reduce the loss.
Over 50 percent of our teaching staff are holding a doctor degree of Technical Sciences including 1 academician, 4 doctors of sciences, 3 state prize owners , 13 professors, 15 associate professors and 39 Ph.D.
At present, there are more than 2700 bachelor students, 270 master students and 106 doctor degree students in Power Engineering School.
I am proud of welcoming our students to join together with professors, teaching staff to gain the technological knowledge which is mental treasure of human race.
The School of Power Engineering, dated back to the Engineering faculty of the Mongolian State University was founded in 1960. Being one of the oldest departments, it has experienced a long historical path.
As Mongolia is marching into the twenty first century, the School of Power Engineering School of MUST is dedicated to prepare highly qualified engineers who can manage and operate the technological process of power generation and power supply for domestic needs. The School of Power Engineering is striving towards the goal of providing a first-class education in the 21st century. Since the reform and open door policy was put into practice, the School has initially formed the multilevel and multi-standard style for advancing the engineering sciences. The department has conducted a series of reforms to improve our teaching with emphasis on research and innovation. These reforms aim to train 21st century professionals with breadth of knowledge, great motivation for their work, and ability to pursue scientific research.
We can hear the steps of the high-tech era, which challenges the School of Power Engineering to strive for even higher goals. With the educational system reform, the faculty of the School of Energy and Power Engineering welcome eagerly the challenges of the 21st century, and will contribute greatly to the advancement of the University into a first-class university in Mongolia. During all these years, our teams had prepared about 5000 engineers and technical HR and became the main motivator for energy and all other industrial areas.
In present time when the scientific and technological development are taking the effective way, and when globalization is taking place in the economical sector, there is the positive influence on national development and the economics based on the education is overruling.
Congratulations with 50th anniversary to all elders, teachers, all graduates, engineers and technical employees and to all our students whose contributions were given to our national renovation and prosperity and we are wishing you the high success to all of you.
Since the year of 2001 the School has been changing its academic structure, nowadays we have 7 professor teams in 2 professional divisions and they are preparing engineers on 13 majors with Bachlor, Master and Doctor degrees
